Facebook User?

Our Service has a Facebook Page; it’s a great way to keep up to date

with important info for the service.  If you are a Facebook user, look us up under Hunter Mobile Preschool and click the button and share it with your friends.

·    Every child needs a good wide sun hat every day while at preschool.  We have hats for sale for $12.

·    Please ensure your child brings a drink bottle to preschool as we have purchased eskys that can be taken out with the children during the warmer weather.

·    Please ensure your child is picked up and off the premises BY the finishing time for your venue.  Our Public Liability Insurance does not cover you before or after our preschool hours.  We are also in breach of our licence by having children on the premises outside of preschool operating hours.  Please also be aware that the service does charge a late fee for families that are continually late picking up their child.

Health Alert

Choice magazine is warning people to be careful when selecting aluminium water bottles.  Research has found that some of the cheaper brands may contain BPA, a toxic substance that could leach into the water.  When buying a bottle, avoid those with a gold/orange coloured lining and make sure that the label states that the bottle is BPA Free

Fees

If you have outstanding fees from last term, please ensure that they are paid ASAP.  Our service relies on fees in order to provide a preschool experience to your children.   If fee payments become a problem, please see the staff at your    venue or contact Liz in the office on 02 49346725.

Millfield Funday

During the holidays, the staff ran a funday at Millfield to promote the service in the area.  We would like to thank the families that came along and supported their preschool service.  A great day was had by all that attended.

Christmas Parties

Preschool Christmas Parties will be held in the last week of Preschool (12th – 16th December).  More details for each venue will be sent home shortly.

2012 Enrolments

If you are re-enrolling your child for next year, please make sure you have paid your $55 enrolment fee before the end of November to secure your child’s position.

Preschool Management Committee

Next year’s Annual General Meeting will be held during February 2012.  At the AGM, our service’s Management Committee for the year is elected.  The positions that will be available are; President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Venue Representatives (one for each venue) and Ordinary Committee Members.

If you are interested in how your child’s service is being run and would like to have a say in the management’s decision making, then joining the Management Committee is a great way to become involved.

Our service requires a Management Committee to operate.  If we don’t have a Committee, we don’t receive government funding, then we don’t have a service.  We are asking that parents and interested community members start considering joining the Committee at the AGM now

Natural Play Spaces

Benefits of natural play spaces are; physical skills development, higher attention levels, greater self-discipline, mental health benefits through developing a sense of place and identity.

(Elliot 2008 – The Outdoor Playspace Naturally)

Playing with mud enables children to connect with the earth in an immediate way.  Plunging your hands in the dirt creates a connectedness between humans and Mother Nature.
